A graduation ceremony was held at the Catholic Cathedral, Johannesburg, to mark the completion of courses in English, isiZulu and Business Management by young transnational migrants.
Language learning, especially isiZulu, supported everyday communication, reduced fear of discrimination or xenophobic violence and strengthened safety and belonging.
The PI and South Africa PDRA, Sibusisiwe Mlambo, met Zimbabwean and Nigerian youth and migrant organisations. These contacts led to interviews and planned follow-up activities.
Engagements included meetings with Sister Marizete and Luvuyo, a member of the Young Persons Advisory Board.
